The Pizza Place, Main St downtown
Sometimes to have a successful business, a pizza business, you just need a smart business model. A perfect example of this is the Pizza Place on 17th and Main.
The pizza honestly tasted like toast with a little bit of cheese on top. I appreciate a considerable amount of crisp and crunch in my pizza, but when the entire crust is cooked like this all the way through, it’s hardly enjoyable. And the sauce? What sauce? There is hardly any sauce on this thing.

The color is great. I was stoked to try this stuff. I remember getting a couple of slices a year or so ago before a band I was in was to play a show at the Alley Katz, but I don’t remember what it tasted like. Now I know why I forgot so easily.
And for the price, this pizza is definitely not worth buying by the slice. $3.50 for a 1 topping slice of pizza is pricey enough as it is, but when the shit is this bad? Get out of here.
But here is where this makes sense. The Pizza Place is downtown, and open until 3a.m. The droves of drunkards staggering out of McCormack’s, Lucky Buddah and the like won’t be thinking about the price as they were probably spending twice as much on orange crushes all night. I’ve been by this place late at night and have seen the lines that form inside. I doubt they’ll be changing the prices anytime soon. I’d rather have a DiGiorno.
